Be Speckled (KUAS Original Pattern)

Designed by Anna Maliszewski

This 2007 pattern has been re-written and sizes has been added to fit the smallest to largest women's hands.

The yarn I used is sadly discontinued, so I've provided some suggestion for yarns that work because quite honestly, isn't it all about the striping?

For mine, it surprised me with a sunrise & twilight effect.

Materials:
-YARN: Main Color: 75(95)(115)(140) yds of a worsted weight yarn that is spun with more than one color (that stripe). Note: pattern seen with a discounted yarn, Caron Simply Soft Shadows in “Mardi Grey.”
Contrast Color: 30-40 yds of a worsted weight yarn with a solid color. Yarn ideas: Try Elann’s “A-Series W01” yarn or Jojoland’s “Rhythm” yarn.
-NEEDLES: size US7 dpns, set of 4; 1 darning needle
 -OTHER NOTIONS: 2 Placemarkers

GAUGE: 5.5sts= 1’’ (or 2.5cm) & 7.5 rows= 1’’ (2.5cm)

I'm casting on for these!!! (I should be casting on 540 stitches for a shawl). I'm a fairly new knitter, been afraid of gloves or anything, but you say they are easy. So I'm going to try these! Why I'm doing so, in the middle of the hot, hot desert, in mid-summer, I have no idea. I'm just nuts, really.

Found the pattern on Ravelry, when I was browsing. I picked up the green Shadows yarn (DOH! I forgot the coordinating solid Simply Soft! I knew I was forgetting something!)

Actually, I'm making the ribbed edges a pink Caron color, that goes well with the pink part of the variegation, in my green Shadows yarn.

I've never done dpns or tubular knitting before, I've seen it alot on the blogs, and kind of just did what seemed logical; can you take a look at my blog posting about these, w/pics, or in Ravelry, and see if I'm doing them right?

I can't believe I'm doing this, thanks for the great pattern!!!

I love your knits.

I just bought the yarn for these today, and I'm soooo so excited to start on them.
It's taking me longer than it normally would because the grey SS I bought is tangled and hard to wind into a ball lol.

BAH. I tried changing it a bit to accomodate my skeletal wrists, and now it's become kid-sized. Oh well, my boyfriend has a little sister. Haha.
