"All good things"

I've been a little busy knitting. I've been a little busy designing. I've been a little busy watching Friends. ...But, I would definitely say that I spent more time *writing up sock patterns, changing them, knitting it up, and frogging it again* (rep. *to* several times)....more than anything else!

I'm also working on squares myself. It's a shame that I didn't really bring any Red Heart with me to school. I'm using the yarn from my own aghan... because that's the only bit of Red Heart I packed with me! (...and to think that I have bins full at home...I'm such a dummy.)

I was knitting at Liz's apartment last night, and I forced her to dye up the colorway for the club, since we changed it. See my point, the club starts in a couple of weeks....and I've got nothing knit up yet! lol. Anyways, I did more teaching (her sister) to knit, than actually knitting myself. But, I did get to take home one of my favorite colorways of hers, "Japanese Maple." Yummy.

...and I was already thinking of what to knit my own grandparents soon. This one would be perfect for both of my grandpas. Do you think I have the patience and endurence to knit two of these?

And of course, as soon as you got some inches done on your own fir cone shawl, you see a cooler one on the web. Oi.

Princess Tee?

I'm still debating whether or not to call it something like "Princess Tee" or "Kahlan."

I've already used up 2 1/2 skeins. Yeah. I'm definately going to have to buy more. I would loooove to knit another one with a few simple modifications, and another type of yarn. I love the elasticity of this yarn, but something really soft like alpaca would be really nice too.

What do you think? I'm going to do 2 more ribbings before I go knitting solid again. I'm also debating about what I should do about the bottom. Of course, the most natural thing to do is a few ribbings.... but I think I would be dissatisfied with the results, since of my wide hip frame. I also thought about ribbing all the way down, but I thought that might accent the stomach area.
I'm still planning on adding beading and such to the material (yeah, after-the-fact-- but I don't have access to a craft store at the moment, and thought of it too late).

I have the neatest idea for a matching skirt for the raglan tee! It will look amazing together (I hope).

Also........
I just discovered the awesomeness of my non-univeristy public library on campus!! They have everything! Their knitting selection is huge! Here's some patterns that I liked when I went through Twinkles' Big City Knits & the 2005 Vogue Knitting magazine:

Interweave Knits & Kiltie CO

I went to Barnes & Nobles today, and this is what I picked up:

Interweave Knits, Spring 2007 & Bruce Feiler's Where God Was Born. I flipped through a lot of the pages, and it looks really interesting. Interweave has a lot of really neat patterns this season. A few are posted below. My random thoughts are numbered ...

1. I plan on trying Entrellac.
Eunny's Entrellac socks are awesome, and I plan on starting them in the summer after I "master" the entrellac technique. Isn't Eunny amazing?!? These socks kick butt! I love the color choice, and how the boxes switch colors.

2. I was thinking that this blue tank would be awesome, if it were shorter. I could make it into a really cool exercising tank in cotton.
3. The "Dollar and a Half" Cardi looks interesting. You can't see what's going on with it, due to the crappy quality of the pic, but it's a good future knit, or something that I could use as a basis to create some other cabled cardi. Actually, if you click on the picture, you can see the cables and such, because it will be super-sized. :)

4. This light blue sweater looks nice, for the future. That's really all I have to say about it.
5. The "Rippled Skirt" looks airy, and great for the summer.

6. I started my Kiltie Skirt. Anyone else wanna join me?? If you go to my sidebar, you can click on the "Kiltie Skirt" KAL, and get the free pattern. Leave a comment, if you think you would like to knit along with me. :) The picture on the right is the yarn i'm using. Notice how the skeins are $1.59 at Walmart... all the cheap but soft glory for a poor college student, right?

A Forecast for the future

Hey everyone,

I really want to knit this sweater, as soon as my mom's raglan sweater is done. I was thinking about doing it maybe in a light violet color or seagreen...or even emerald (yeah, the color choice is still being debated), and I would probably add another inch or two for a lengthier sweater. Also, I was thinking about getting silky scarf with hints of the color of the sweater, and tie it around the waist, so i can unbutton a few buttons. It will look awesome. I started a KAL on craftster for it already: http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=154790.0 If anyone wants to join.

WIP: the manufacturing of purses

So, my wedding is now under two years. That means, I need to make some $$ green $$. I decided to "manufacture" clutches, purses and such to sell as a ... get this... "wedding fundraiser." However, I've got a lot of awesome ideas for really cute stuff. It's gotta be better than taking an extra job and, *yikes,* bagging for a grocery store. I can let my imagination run free. God knows I have a lot of ideas to get out of my head from those late sleepless nights. Does anyone have this same problem-- trying to fall asleep, but you can't because your creativity kicks in around that time?? I signed up for Etsy, just in case I decide to sell online, but I don't think i'll have to do that. My mom works with a lot of women, and they love the bags I come up with. *Cha-ching!*
Here's a WIP:

I'm thinking of doing red silk for the liner. It's still up for grabs. I was going to go for a white and red striped liner, but I'm really into the silkyness, since the top has silky ribbon.
The Bag isn't even sewed up yet, or blocked.

Ok, so as a side note, I'm thinking about doing something like this-

I was thinking about combining the lacey pattern from the "butterfly" from Rowan, and adding fingers. I was watching "Superman Returns," and the lady that is with Lex Luther in the beginning wears these light black lacey finerless gloves. I would add those fingerless elements and make the cuff flare out a little more than the picture.

What do you think?
